Bobbe McGinley, MA, MBA, LISAC, NCGC II, CADAC

Bobbe has been working in the field of Chemical Dependency since 1988,
and she has worked with Problem and Compulsive gamblers since being
Certified by the Arizona Council on Compulsive Gambling, Inc. in 1996 and Nationally Certified in 1999. Beginning her career at the Hazelden Foundation, Bobbe moved to Phoenix as Senior Counselor at Progress Valley, IV, and then went on to become the Addictions Program Director at Charter Hospital, and Program Manager for Trimeridian, Inc. Bobbe works in private practice, where she is now Clinical Director, Counselor and Consultant at her agency: ACT – Counseling & Education.

Dr Karp, MD

Dr Karp is a certified addiction psychiatrist, practicing in the field of addiction medicine since that time. He was the chief medical officer for Rosewood Treatment Centers for 10 years, and he has vast experience in both addiction treatment and eating disorder treatment. Prior to coming to Arizona to lead Rosewood he was medical director for the Office of Mental Health and Substance abuse Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in that role over saw the clinical aspects of the Pennsylvania state hospital system and community mental health system.

Dr. Karp graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, spent some time as a primary care physician before completing his psychiatric residency at Norristown State Hospital in Norristown Pa. He worked with the seriously mentally ill in a variety of settings during his time in Pennsylvania including inpatient, intensive outpatient and jail settings.

Dr Karp believes that it is of prime importance to develop an accurate diagnosis of both psychiatric and addiction problems in order to be most effective in a person’s recovery and is very conservative with medications until it becomes clear what benefits the medication can be expected to offer the individual in treatment

Matthew Wohl, BS, BHT

Matthew received his Bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies at Minot State University in North Dakota, where he was on the Dean’s list twice, while also being a three-time President’s Honor Roll recipient. While working on his Bachelor’s degree, Matthew completed an internship at The Heartview Foundation in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he gained invaluable experience working with highly qualified clinicians in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. Matthew is currently in the process of earning his Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of South Dakota. Matthew worked as a client services manager in addiction recovery, and also as a case manager and group facilitator.

Carol Farmer, MA, LAC, LASAC

Carol earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Carol is currently working toward earning a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University. Carol is licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health as a Licensed Associate Counselor and a Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor. Carol’s area of research focuses on Vicarious Post-Traumatic Growth in Trauma Therapists. Carol’s therapeutic experience is in supporting substance abuse and eating disorder populations with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings and specializes in building hope in recovery through the use of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trauma processing in individual and group settings. Carol is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy by the EMDR institute and as a Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual by the Arizona Trauma Institute. She is passionate about empowering trauma survivors to create a sense of personal safety while desensitizing the impact of their past traumatic experiences.

Scott Wilson, MS

Scott received his Bachelor degree in Psychology and his Master of Science in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. He has been informed that he will receive his license as a Licensed Associate Counselor from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. Scott is dedicated to helping clients reach their therapeutic goals by creating a strong therapeutic alliance and working with clients to help them focus on their strengths which will help facilitate a successful recovery process.

Debbie Richardson, MA, RD, CEDRD

Debbie is the owner of Optimal Nutrition, LLC which provides nutrition support for behavioral and lifestyle modifications for both pediatric and adult populations, and numerous conditions including eating disorders, diabetes, weight management, childhood obesity, and heart disease. She attained her Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian credential in 2014. She was the Lead Dietitian for Rosewood’s Intensive Outpatient Program in Tempe, AZ for 4 years. Debbie continues to provide consulting as needed for eating disorder facilities and substance abuse programs focusing on the presence of eating disorders is the addiction population. Her experience also includes designing and facilitating nutrition education programs, nutrition assessment, nutrition consults for the geriatric population and experience in the pharmaceutical research industry assessing the effects of medications on weight loss and diabetes. Debbie is an adjunct instructor for community college nutrition classes and has presented at numerous conferences/ organizations on a variety of nutrition topics.
